Modern white fillings are a combination of a resin and nano-particles of glass.

White composite resin dental fillings were created as an alternative to traditional metal dental fillings. Tooth fillings colored to look like a natural tooth are strong, durable, and make for a very natural looking smile

White fillings can be used to replace decay or replace old silver fillings for cosmetic reasons.

White fillings are best when the cavity to be replaced is small or medium size. When the cavity is large a porcelain inlay or onlay is the best option.
